What If Reducing Stress Was Easy?
I’m sure you’re waiting for the punchline…
But……What if it was true instead?
What if it really was easy to reduce your stress?
We make it complicated, compounded, and we wear our stress like a badge of honor.
Culturally, we silently say: “Look at how stressed I am and I’m still functioning, why aren’t you”
Guilt, unworthiness and fear could all be wrapped up in your stress too.
Making it even harder to prioritize dealing with your stress to improve your well-being.
We push it off and say,
“It will get better, I just need to get through “item A”
becomes…
“It will get better I just need to get through “item B”
becomes…
“It will get better I just need to get through “item C”
Do you see a pattern emerging?
The truth is until you decide to break the pattern it will keep repeating.
One of the easiest ways to start dealing with your stress is to understand where and how stressed you are.
So let’s find out where you currently have the most stress. You may think you know and you might. Or you might be surprised.
Answer the following questions as quickly as you can. Don’t over think them. If the question doesn’t apply skip it.
Pick a number between 0 and 10, with 10 being overwhelmed with stress. If your number falls outside of the 0–10 range, still go with that number.
- What is my current stress level related to my work or my business?
- What is my current stress level related to my partner?
- What is my current stress level related to my child(ren)?
- What is my current stress level related to my physical health?
- What is my current stress level related to my emotional/mental health?
From the list above what is your current top stressor?
Are you surprised or is it what you thought?
