And why I’m so passionate about them

Two important topics have the same date for recognition. And both are today Sunday, October 10th, 2021. (But even if you read this after it still applies. :) )

World Mental Health Day

And

National Period Day

These topics are entwined and unfortunately still considered taboo by many.

It’s changing, and we all can help with the change.

The best thing to help the change is by talking more openly about these topics.

Even if you only talk to your closest friends it’s more than if you held it inside.

I was surprised when I first started talking about creating a period meditation, on how many women started opening up to me about their own period stories.

By opening up you are giving someone else permission to do the same, even if it’s to one other person.

Opening up can also be hard, because it makes you vulnerable.

A few years I was dealing with so much stress, grief, and overwhelm.

Looking back I was depressed too.

I hid it for so long. I knew how to appear “happy”, which really only served me to crash harder when I was alone.
