I’ve spent Thanksgiving Alone Before
Here’s how I made it enjoyable.
I spent the entire morning in my pajamas and it was delightful.
Normally for Thanksgiving, I’m at least with my parents, but usually even more people. I’ve certainly done the hosting route too.
So to spend the morning curled up on my couch watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade was a luxury.
I’ve always loved the parade and it’s on my bucket list to see it in person.
This year there is no in-person option to see the parade.
And for most of us, this year there isn’t a safe option to be in-person with family or friends on Thanksgiving.
Plan ahead on how you want to spend the day.
When you plan how you’re going to spend Thanksgiving by yourself, it helps to ease the loneliness you may feel.
It did for me.
I had invites from others. But ultimately I choose to spend the day alone.
Now, I know this year is different.
It’s going to be HARD and far from ideal.
And for many people, myself included, will be spending it alone. Out of precaution or necessity.
